Colorful Creations was born from a lifelong passion for creativity and a dream for bringing people together through art.

My name is Susan Brown, and after spending many years caring for others as a Registered Nurse, I retired and decided it was time to pursue another passion that had always been close to my heart— helping people discover the joy of creating.

After moving to Hartfield, Virginia, in 2019, I fell in love with the community and recognized there was a need for a welcoming place where people of all ages could gather, learn new skills, express their creativity, and simply enjoy making something with their own hands.

That dream became a reality on May 27, 2025, when I opened Colorful Creations.

From the beginning, my vision has been much more than opening a craft store. I wanted to create a destination where creativity, friendship, and community come together. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing afternoon, a new hobby, a fun family activity, or an opportunity to learn a new skill, you’ll find a warm welcome here.

One of my favorite things is watching someone who says, “I’m not creative,” leave with a project they’re genuinely proud of. Creativity isn’t about being perfect— it’s about trying something new, enjoying the process, and discovering abilities you didn’t know you had.

Whether you’re visiting for your very first time or returning to learn another craft, my goal is for every guest to feel inspired, encouraged, and excited to create.
